Pool sessions and your Open Water dives.Read More
Our wonderful team of fun instructors will complete your classroom portion as well as the in-pool scuba training with you over two days (typically one weekend). The Open Water dives, also known as your certification dives, are completed in close proximity to Toronto on a separate weekend. Our scuba team will have your dive gear ready and waiting for you both at the pool and at the dive site where you will complete your certification dives.
For your convenience our classroom and pool are both located in the same facility, the gorgeous Bishop Strachan School, a private school for girls in Forest Hill, Toronto. Please note, however, that you are responsible for your own transportation to and from both the pool and the open water dive site. If you are interested in this option please add this to your shopping cart.
The classroom portion of this course is available through eLearning for any of our class and pool sessions. Please note, if you want to complete the class and pool course mid-week, as opposed to the weekend, then you can only do this using the eLearning option. Please visit the eLearning page below.

This option includes only the classroom and pool sessions. Open water dives will need to be taken separately to complete your certification. Read More

In order to complete the Full Open Water certification, you need to take the classroom portion, the pool session and the four certification dives. The eLearning option simply means that you can complete the classroom portion of the Open Water certification at home, online and in your own time. Many students choose this option to save them time on a weekend (where you need only show up for the pool session) or if they want to complete the pool session mid-week. eLearning is the only option for midweek Open Water courses.
For a full description of the eLearning process, please read our general eLearning Page
The eLearning courses use PADI’s online eLearning programmes. As such, PADI directly controls that aspect of any eLearning course. This means that eLearning courses are usually a little more expensive than our regular in-class courses (the Toronto Scuba Club initially pays for your eLearning pass). Most of our eLearning students usually find, however, that the increase in cost is more than offset by the time they save. Students doing eLearning have one year to complete the online portion of this course.
