eLearning Open Water Pool Session
eLearning Open Water Course
If you don't want to be stuck in the classroom, but still want to complete your Open Water certifications, there are four options for you to choose from to complete the classroom portion online:
A) Weekend Full Course with eLearning
B) Weekend Pool Course with eLearning
C) Mid-week Full Course with eLearning
D) Mid-week Pool Course with eLearning
If two of you wish to take the course together, please make sure that you choose one of the buddy options in the price options below
You must complete the online theory portion of the certification process prior to attending either the mid-week or the weekend sessions.
Please remember that whatever the option you choose, you need to complete: a) the classroom session; b) the pool training session; and, c) the certification dives before you can get your Open Water Certification. If you choose to do the Class and Pool course only you will still need to complete your certification dives at a later time either with us or another training facility.
As the eLearning course utilizes PADI's eLearning programme, PADI charges an additional fee for access to the program (initially paid for you by the Toronto Scuba Club). Most of our eLearning students usually find, however, that the increase in cost is more than offset by the time they save.
Students doing eLearning have one year to complete the online portion of this course.

Refresher Course
Refresher Course
Do you remember how to put your equipment together? Do you remember how much weight you need or how to equalize? Do you have some great new equipment that you want to get comfortable with? If you have any of these types of issues, then a refresher course is definitely a good choice for you.
Another great reason for taking a refresher course is because we all know that wanting to get back in the water shouldn’t take up your time and money on your holiday. Not only is it expensive, but it’s a day less enjoying your vacation. So why take up that precious holiday time when you can take a quick refresher course before you leave!
Our refresher courses are run over one single session of 1 – 2 hours depending on your requirements and are offered during every Toronto Scuba Club pool session. We want to get you back in the water as quickly as possible and this is how you do it.
We will sign your logbook to show that you have recently completed a refresher course and are ready for the water.
If you see anything listed below that you feel you would like to work on then a refresher course is for you:
- Equipment assembly/disassembly
- Descents and Ascents – Equalization
- Buoyancy skills and correct weighting for salt or fresh water
- Mask skills
- Emergency Scenarios
- Help with new or existing dive equipment including wetsuits and drysuits
- Planning dives with your buddy and using dive tables or computers
- Reminder of how fun Scuba is!!
Be safe, be confident and be refreshed!

Rescue Diver and EFR Courses
You already have your open water certification and your advanced open water certifications, but you still want to take it to the next level. The Rescue Diver course is the pivotal step in expanding your dive knowledge and experience. Building upon what you have already learned, this course expands on what you already know about preventing problems and what to do if they occur. You will find this course both demanding and rewarding as you learn to rise to the challenges and master your new skills whilst making the transition to looking beyond yourself and consider the safety and well-being of others.
This course is a lot of fun. Not only is it fun for the students, but it is also a favourite of our instructors. If you want to seriously improve your diving skills, have fun, learn some invaluable life-saving skills and greatly increase your diving confidence, then this course is ideal for you.
The open water component of this course can be completed on one of our local dive weekends.
A prerequisite for the Rescue Diver course is that students must have a Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate that is valid and will be current for one year after the course. If you do not have a CPR certificate, you can obtain one by completing the Emergency First Response (EFR) course. The EFR course is PADI’s unique CPR and first aid course that teaches you general first aid skills, CPR and some first aid skills that are particular to typical diving emergencies. If you choose to take the EFR course it is designed to immediately precede and partially run in conjunction with the Rescue Diver course.
You can also take the EFR course as a stand-alone first aid course and if this interests you, simply sign up below.
As with a number of our other courses, the classroom portions of this course can also be taken using the eLearning option. So, if you would rather get through the class aspects in your own time and only join us for the practical pool session, as well as the checkout dives, please use that option below.
