Rescue Diver and EFR Courses
You already have your open water certification and your advanced open water certifications, but you still want to take it to the next level. The Rescue Diver course is the pivotal step in expanding your dive knowledge and experience. Building upon what you have already learned, this course expands on what you already know about preventing problems and what to do if they occur. You will find this course both demanding and rewarding as you learn to rise to the challenges and master your new skills whilst making the transition to looking beyond yourself and consider the safety and well-being of others.
This course is a lot of fun. Not only is it fun for the students, but it is also a favourite of our instructors. If you want to seriously improve your diving skills, have fun, learn some invaluable life-saving skills and greatly increase your diving confidence, then this course is ideal for you.
The open water component of this course can be completed on one of our local dive weekends.
A prerequisite for the Rescue Diver course is that students must have a Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate that is valid and will be current for one year after the course. If you do not have a CPR certificate, you can obtain one by completing the Emergency First Response (EFR) course. The EFR course is PADI’s unique CPR and first aid course that teaches you general first aid skills, CPR and some first aid skills that are particular to typical diving emergencies. If you choose to take the EFR course it is designed to immediately precede and partially run in conjunction with the Rescue Diver course.
You can also take the EFR course as a stand-alone first aid course and if this interests you, simply sign up below.
As with a number of our other courses, the classroom portions of this course can also be taken using the eLearning option. So, if you would rather get through the class aspects in your own time and only join us for the practical pool session, as well as the checkout dives, please use that option below.
